A Recycled Carrier Bag Built Around One Weak Point

The handle opening is where a die-cut carrier bag normally fails first: the film is pulled thin at the punch and splits from the corners once the bag is loaded. This bag answers that with an adhesive patch laminated over the handle area, so the lifting force spreads across a wider band of film instead of concentrating on the cut edge.

The bag body is made from recycled LDPE. Recycled content is 80% as standard and can be set to 20%, 30%, 50%, 70%, 80% or 100% to match a buyer's sustainability target, with GRS-certified material available on request. Sides are heat sealed rather than glued, and the base is inserted and sealed so the bag opens flat on the counter and stands while it is being packed.

Four Constructions From One Bag Family

Buyers rarely need the same bag at every counter, so the range is built as four constructions that share one film, one handle pattern and one print system. A store group can take the flat version for the checkout, a gusseted version for boxed goods and a full side-and-bottom version for bulky or multi-item baskets without changing the visual identity.

ConstructionSide gussetBottom gussetTypical use
扁平袋NoNoSmall purchases, counter service, pharmacy items
Side gusset onlyYesNoWider flat items, boxed goods, takeaway
Bottom gusset onlyNoYesBottles and tins that need a standing base
Side and bottom gussetYesYesFull grocery baskets and bulky loads

All four run the same reinforced patch at the handle, so the carry experience is consistent even when the body volume changes. That matters in a chain where the same customer may be handed a small bag at one till and a large one at another.

Recycled Content You Can Document

Recycled content is the part of this bag that procurement teams will be asked about, so the specification is written to be quoted rather than implied. The default mix is 80% recycled LDPE; where a tender requires a lower or higher figure, the ratio is adjusted between 20% and 100% and confirmed on the order.

  • 80% recycled LDPE content as standard
  • Recycled ratio selectable at 20% / 30% / 50% / 70% / 80% / 100%
  • GRS-certified material available on request
  • Mono-material PE construction for the existing recycling stream
  • Printed recycled-content marking available for the bag face

Because the bag stays a single-material PE item, it can be collected with soft plastics rather than being separated from a laminated structure. Print can carry a recycled-content statement and the recycling mark at the point of sale, which tells the material story without an extra label.

Sixteen Stock Sizes, Six Size Classes

Sizes are quoted as width x height of the flat bag. Side gusset and bottom gusset, where ordered, are given as an extra depth figure and expand the packed volume rather than the printed face. The grid below is the range we run most often; anything between and beyond it is cut to order.

A boutique that sells garments usually settles on two or three Middle sizes plus one Big; a supermarket takes Small through Bigger to cover a whole basket at different tills. Film gauge and gusset depth for each size are confirmed against your own basket samples before mass production.

Retail, Takeaway and Pharmacy Use

The bag is aimed at supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies, boutiques and takeaway operators — the places where a bag is pulled one at a time, opened with one hand and needs to hold its shape while it is packed.

The reinforced patch keeps the handle comfortable on a loaded bag, the inserted bottom stops the base from sagging, and the heat-sealed sides stay flat for a tidy stack under the till. Printing and film colour are customized, so a storefront colour scheme, logo or QR code can be carried on the same construction.

From Artwork To Delivery: How An Order Runs

Orders are quoted one to one rather than priced off a catalogue page, because film gauge, recycled ratio and patch position vary by size. The sequence below is what a first order looks like from the buyer's side.

  1. Requirements. Send the size, the construction, the recycled ratio, the print artwork and the delivery market.
  2. Quotation. A named sales contact prices the run against your specification and confirms lead time.
  3. Free design. Artwork is laid out to the bag face and gusset, with bleed and seam allowance handled on our side.
  4. Proof approval. A typeset proof and, where needed, a printed sample are sent for sign-off.
  5. Deposit. Production starts once the order is confirmed and the deposit is received.
  6. Production. Film is blown, printed, patched, sealed and bottom-inserted on the workshop line.
  7. Inspection and dispatch. Finished cartons are checked against the approved proof before shipment.
  8. Receipt. Quality is checked again against the packing list on arrival, and any shortfall is settled with the next run.

Nine-step customization process from requirements and quotation through production to delivery

Ordering and Customization

Send the size (or your own width x height), the construction, the recycled content you need and the artwork direction, and we will confirm the film gauge, the patch position and the print layout against samples. GRS documentation, printed artwork proofs and carton specifications are supplied with the quotation.
