This 95kPa specimen transport bag carries pathology, clinical and laboratory samples from the collection point to the testing lab. Each bag is printed with the 95kPa marking, the red BIOHAZARD symbol and the product name on the front, with the closing instructions printed alongside — so the procedure travels with the bag instead of sitting on a separate sheet.
Built for gloved, one-handed handling
Specimen bags are sealed by people wearing gloves, often while holding a rack, a form or a specimen in the other hand. Two details on this bag are shaped around that reality: a thumb hole punched in the release liner lets the liner be peeled away with a gloved thumb instead of a fingernail, and an easy-tear notch at the side gives a controlled opening for getting the specimen out once the bag has been sealed.
Closing the bag in four steps
The closure is a fold-over adhesive strip protected by the release liner, so sealing is one fold and one press:
- Peel the release liner away from the adhesive strip.
- Fold the adhesive strip over the bag opening so the adhesive faces the front panel.
- Press firmly from the centre outward to both sides.
- Check that the edges are fully compressed before the bag leaves your hands.
That sequence is printed on every bag, which keeps sealing consistent across shifts and sites. For retrieval, the tear notch on the side of the bag opens the seal without cutting into the specimen compartment — no scissors or blade needed at the bench.
A complete UN3373 Category B kit
The bag is normally supplied as part of the packaging set used for Biological Substance Category B shipments: the 95kPa specimen bag itself, a UN3373 mailer bag that receives the sealed specimen bag, UN3373 labels for the outer packaging, and an outer box marked Biological Substance Category B. A blank area on the front panel keeps the bar code and requisition labels clear of the hazard marking.

The front panel carries the 95kPa marking, the BIOHAZARD symbol, the product name and the closing instructions, with a free area left for the bar code label. Bags can also be printed to your own artwork — the usage photos in the gallery show a customer-branded version in service — and bag size, film thickness and packing quantity are made to order.
