This specimen bag is a 6 × 9 inch LDPE bag made for hospitals, clinics and laboratories that need to hand a sample from the ward to the bench without the paperwork being separated from the container. It is produced in 100% virgin LDPE at 0.05 mm, with a printed front panel and a separate inner pocket that holds the request form, label or barcode card securely against the bag.

The two versions share the same bag body, film gauge and print layout. The difference is the closure at the top, which changes how the bag is loaded, sealed and counted on the ward.
Pocket vs Pocket + Flap Top: Two Ways to Secure a Sample
The standard pocket version is an open-top bag with a 152 × 190 mm pocket on the inside. The sample container drops into the main body, the request form slides into the pocket, and the bag is then closed by the hospital's own method, such as a knot, tape or a heat sealer on the ward. At 4.83 g per bag it is the lighter and more compact of the two, which matters when a department issues thousands of bags a month and stores them in flat dispensers.

The flap-top version adds a 152 × 60 mm flap above the bag mouth. That flap folds over the top and can be taped or sealed down, so the bag is closed with a deliberate, visible action rather than an open mouth. The extra flap and its seal area add 0.30 g, bringing the finished bag to 5.13 g. In practice the flap version is chosen where bags travel between buildings or go into a pneumatic or courier route and the team wants a closed top before the bag leaves the department.
Material, Printing and Pocket Construction
Both versions are blown from 100% virgin LDPE at 0.05 mm. Virgin resin is used instead of reprocessed material because the bag has to stay clear, flexible and free of odour or contamination, and because the film must seal reliably when a hospital runs it through a heat sealer. The inner pocket is a separate 0.035 mm LDPE layer welded to the bag, sized at 152 × 190 mm so a standard request form or label card sits flat and stays readable through the film.
Printing is 2 colors on one side (1C/1S). The usual layout carries the hospital or laboratory identity, handling instructions and a writable area on the front, with the pocket left clear so the inserted form can be read without opening the bag. Print registration is held across repeat orders so a reprint matches the version already in circulation.

The film is BPA free and the finished bag is produced under ISO9001, with FDA, BSCI and RoHS compliance covering the material and the printing inks.
Made for Hospital Specimen Handling and Transport
A specimen bag has to do three jobs at once: carry the sample without leaking, keep the paperwork with the sample, and let staff confirm at a glance that the two belong together. The pocket handles the second job, the clear LDPE body handles the first, and the printed front panel handles the third. The 152 × 228 mm format accepts the common urine, stool and swab containers used on general wards, and the flat profile lets full bags stand or stack in a transport rack.
For departments that move samples to a central laboratory, the flap-top version gives a closed bag before it enters the courier route, while the pocket version suits in-department collection where bags are sealed at the point of use. Both pack 100 pcs to a bag and 2,000 pcs to a carton, with carton size 33 × 21 × 33 cm and carton weight of 10.7 kg for the pocket version or 11.26 kg for the flap-top version.

Ordering and Packing
Minimum order quantity is 100,000 pcs per version, which covers the print run and the film setup together. Artwork should be confirmed before production so the 2-color front panel, the writable area and the clear pocket window are locked in the same layout. The bag is supplied unsealed, ready for the hospital's own closure method or for the flap to be taped down.
Orders are packed 100 pcs per bag, 2,000 pcs per carton, and each carton is marked with the version, quantity and carton weight so receiving teams can check the delivery against the packing list without opening every carton.
