Step 2 — Fill: 10 Micron Film and the LDPE / HDPE Choice
At 10 micron per side, the film is light enough to keep the bag flexible and economical, yet firm enough to hold a sandwich without ballooning. LDPE gives a softer, more pliable hand feel and is the usual choice where the bag is expected to drape around the product. HDPE is stiffer and slightly more opaque, which suits operators who want the bag to hold its shape while it is being filled.
The bag weighs 0.9–1 g. Keeping each unit under one gram means resin consumption, box weight and freight cost all stay predictable across high-volume runs, while the thin film still provides a clean, even surface with no printing to inspect or register.
Step 3 and Step 4 — Seal and Serve: A 170 × 150 mm Working Area
After filling, the 50 mm lip folds over the 150 mm bag width and tucks under the sandwich. The 170 mm height leaves enough room for a standard sandwich to sit below the fold line, so the folded flap does not press into the product. No heat sealer or tape is required: the fold itself closes the bag for counter service, takeaway hand-off and short transport.
Unprinted film keeps the presentation neutral, letting the sandwich itself carry the visual message. It also means one bag specification can serve multiple menu items without a print run or plate change.
